What to expect when attending
The course shall provide an introduction to all aspects of conducting Finite Element Analysis of pressure vessels and piping. The course is intended to provide mechanical engineers without prior knowledge of FEA the necessary knowledge and skills to start solving design / analysis problems by Finite Element Method.

The course starts by providing a general theoretical background about the FE method which is essential and applicable to all FE software. The course, then, provides a step by step presentation of building the model, applying boundary conditions and loads and evaluating results. The course will present detailed examples of the application of ANSYS in the solution of stress analysis problems of pressure vessels and piping.

The important topic of ASME criteria and requirements regarding stress analysis of pressure vessels and piping will be covered.

Chempute Software will provide PDF training notes and course completion certificate.
Course Content
What topics will be covered from Day 1 to 5:
  • Review of the Finite Element Method Formulation
  • Numerical Methods of Solution
  • Element Types and Characteristics
  • Geometry and Mesh Generation
  • Application of Boundary Conditions & Loads
  • Defining Load Steps & Solution
  • ASME Stress Criteria for Pressure Vessels & Piping
  • Review of Results & Error Evaluation
